for me, so i don’t forget and/or lose them.
-only through God can we experience true unconditional love, and thus can truly love others (marriage)
-Jesus accepts us by understanding us completely and forgiving our sins. by bringing our sins to Him, we come to terms with our sinful nature and realize that every single one of us are on the same level—as sinners. we can accept each others as equals.
-it is then when we realize just how great Jesus is for being pure (never once having sinned). we have an infallible role model for our lives that will not disappoint us, even if others Christians do.
-our hardships bring us closer to God. when we are too comfortable or busy with our own things, it is much easier to forget about God and building up our own character. we lose the meaning of life, and become unsatisfied. every one of us feels this way.
-we must not let our fear of losing comfortableness stop us from living our lives. failures are also their own adventures.
-another important thing we can learn from Jesus is that we must strive to be genuine in whatever it is we do. if you love people, show it. express yourself, stand up for what you believe in.
-being alone is being with God 1-on-1.
-always keep in mind your encounters with God.
-being a Christian is a daily struggle.
-my friend once told me: the worst thing anyone could say to me is oh, i didn’t know/can’t believe you’re a Christian.
-retreat highs occur because it is usually the only time we get to be alone with God without distractions.
-you cannot fake spirituality.
-group QT questions: Why do people become Christians? Why do people not like Christians?
-can’t turn Christian simply by “knowing” facts; takes much more commitment and self-reflection than plain memorization
-eternal life… but what about NOW??
